What every girl needs......

Papa and Mormor Abro sent Sophie her very first purse filled with all the essentials every girl needs; pink cell phone, keys, lipstick, mirror, and of course a credit card! They also sent her the beautiful pink sweater she's wearing in the photo.

The purse comes at a perfect time as Sophie has started to mimick things that I do and lately she's been taking her toy pail and trying to wear it on her arm like a purse. Thank you Papa and Mormor!!

Trying to walk.....and stumbeling along the way

Her poor eye! Sophie fell on one of her toys this afternoon while attempting to take a step......learning to walk can be so painful!

Football season has begun!

Ed and Sophie got all decked out in their official Patriot gear to go and watch a pre-season Patriot game. Ed taught Sophie to put both arms up in the air every time he says touchdown.

Beach Day

Sophie is definately getting more comfortable at the beach. She now no longer (and hasn't for a while) sits on the blanket....she wants the sand and she wants it now!

Sophie Turns 1!

Sophie is officially 1. I can't believe our little girl is one, time goes by so fast. I remember bringing her home from the hospital and thinking how small and fragile she is. And now she's practically walking and becoming so independent!

We bought Sophie a new car for her birthday...she loves it! We buckle her in, put baby in the front storage compartment, water bottle in the holder and off we go. We celebrated her actual birthday on the beach, which is where we took her in her first ride in her car.

PARTY!! PARTY!! PARTY!!

We celebrated Sophie's 1st. birthday at Polliwog Park in Manhattan Beach with a safari themed party. So many of our friends showed up to help us celebrate! I think Sophie was a little overwhelmed at all the people. When we put the piece of cake in front of her, I fully expected her to dive in, but she didn't touch it! But when we gave her a few of the mini animal shaped chocolate chip cookies, she loved them......a girl after my own heart.

Birthday Week - Day One

Welcome to Birthday Week everyone!! It's Ed here taking over the blogger duty for the day. This is a tradition I started as something special for Sarah. We agreed we should pass it on to Sophie. Basically it was my way of thanking Sarah with little gifts each day leading up to her birthday on which I would give her something she really wanted. The inspiration for the idea came from the little things that Sarah does for me all throughout the year. Well enough with the mushy stuff, today marked Sophies first day of B'day week and tonight she opened a book that we bought her titled "God knows all about me!" She eventually got around the paper and Sarah and I read her the book. Stay tuned for the rest of Sophies inaugural Birthday Week that will climax in the ultimate Super Safari Party on Sunday.

New home for "Baby"

Sophie loves her baby, whose name is Baby. This morning, she found a new place for her baby to sleep....in the bib drawer. It was really sweet to see her kiss the baby and then put the baby in the drawer, close the drawer and then do it all over again.

Just the ladies

The ladies (myself, Sophie, my sister Anne and her daughter Isabelle) spent the afternoon in Beverly Hills. This photo was taken at Neiman Marcus...where we saw Lauren Graham...yes, that would be LauraLi from Gilmore Girls. The little ladies just love shopping in Beverly Hills!

New Ride

We bought Sophie a wagon and today was her first time trying it out. She loves it! She was so sad when it was time to go inside. Sophie is looking forward to riding in the wagon with her cousin!

Barrette Party.....the new "IT" party

This evening, my friend Hilary hosted a barrette making party. The barrette's, ribbon, bows, buttons, etc. were provided and everyone else brought their creativity and we created the cutest barrette's for our little girls. It was such a fun evening to hang out with the ladies.

Seriously, you can create a party for anything!

While Ed's away...the girls will play!

This past weekend, Ed went back East to visit his family. So while Ed was gone, Sophie and I took advantage of this one on one time and had such a great (tiring) time! Playing at the beach with friends. Sophie doesn't like to touch the sand.
Playing on the jungle gym with her friend Siena at Concert in the Park. Both girls aren't walking yet, so they are holding on for dear life in case they should topple over!
She's attempting to keep up with the other kids running around the playground.
And then we had a picnic dinner, where Sophie managed to drink out of every
sippy cup in sight.......sorry everyone!
Sophie was so happy to see her Daddy when he came home!!

Into Everything!

If you look beyond her beautiful brown eyes, her mischievous smile and that contagious laugh...you will see that Sophie is trouble! She is into everything and moving faster than I can keep up with her! Her favorite things to get into are:

1. Stairs
2. TV
3. Cords plugged into the wall
sockets.
4. Vitamins
And anything else she can get her hands on.
