An athlete in the making......

The Date That Wasn't

Last night, armed with a babysitter and plans for date night, we left Sophie with the babysitter and headed out to a movie. About an hour into the movie we received a call from the babysitter telling us Sophie would not go to sleep, we could hear her screaming and doing sad cry in the background. So, date night ended quite quickly....she was so sad when we got home, her little sad eyes and only wanting mom, it could just break your heart.....is this the start of separation anxiety????

Day at the San Diego Wild Animal Park

On Saturday we took Sophie to the Wild Animal Park in San Diego. At 10 months old she didn't really grasp the concept of animals, but Ed and I had a really great time walking around and taking the tram to look out over the park. Sophie did seem to enjoy riding in the tram, or least grabbing and trying to eat the metal bar. She is such a good natured baby, we lugged her around all day in her stroller and she was still so happy.

Peek a boo

This is my first attempt at making a video on our digital camera and then uploading it to the blog. Sophie has just started to take part in our peek a boo game.

No Stopping Her Now!!!

Sophie has been an official crawler for almost two weeks now. When she first started crawling, forwards that is, she was a bit apprehensive about it and not getting very far. Then she got a really bad cold/cough which lead us to the pediatricians office only to find out she has a double ear infection! Needless to say, we weren't to busy chasing her around....yet! One dose of antibiotics and she is feeling much better and becoming quite the crawler. She's discovered the stairs, outlets ( yes we baby proofed but how do you babyproof the plugs that are plugged into the walls already?) the entertainment center and also now knows that she can crawl from the living room to her room and find even more toys to play with.....let the fun begin!

Fiesta Hermosa

On Memorial Day, we packed Sophie up and made our way over to Fiesta Hermosa, a street festival held every year. There was some really great food and some equally good shopping. Sophie loved to look at all the action around her. I think her time in the baby bijorn is coming to end....carrying her around isn't easy as it used to be.

On the move

Sophie has finally started to crawl forwards. Gates here we come!!!
Sophie's learned that she can get food in her mouth a lot faster if she does it herself. Yay for starting to learn how to feed herself.

Isabelle's Baptism

Our niece Isabelle was baptized Sunday. Ed and I are her godparents and feel very blessed to play such an important role in her life.

This is how Sophie was sleeping when I went in to check on her last night. It's amazing how she can sleep with both legs in the air.

A weekend of new things

I guess this wasn't new, but she looked so cute in this picture!
Sophie learned to read, i swear, she can even read sideways
This was Sophie's first time in the pool, she absolutely loved the water!

Sophie crawls backwards, thats right, not forward. She and her cousin are dueling it out on the floor to see who can move faster and with Sophie only moving backwards, I think she lost.

I'm reminded of how small she is....

Sophie seems so small when she is playing in our bed, but just the right size when playing in her crib.
