It's A.............??????????????

GIRL!!!!

ELMO!!!!

We took Sophie to the Sesame Street Presents: The Body in Hollywood this past weekend. The exhibit was hands on and Sophie loved to play with all the different learning stations; washing your hands, brushing teeth, Elmo's World, etc. However, when she saw the "real" Elmo, she was beyond herself with excitement!!

Rock Stars!

Slowly turning into Zombies as bedtime arrives.
Sarah and Hilary busting some serious moves to the legends of rock.
Wow, I don't think this photo needs any explanation.........

Dinner with our friends Clay, Hilary and their little girl Paige turned into a Rock Star night. After Sophie and Paige went to bed, we brought out Guitar Hero and introduced Hilary and Clay to this fun, competitive and somewhat ridiculous game!

Easter

So fancy in her pretty Easter dress. She loved wearing the hat and holding her purse.

Sophie and Isabelle
Sophie checking out her Easter basket from Auntie Anne and Uncle Josh. The bubbles and bunny ears were a huge hit!
The characters on Sesame Street are dearly loved by Miss Sophie. Ed drew Sophie this card and put it in her Easter basket. I thought this card was pretty awesome!

Paige Days

Sophie has spent the last four days with her friend Paige enjoying so many fun events. From two Easter egg hunts, egg decorating, dinner and dress-up and music class; these girls have had a blast with each other and are becoming such good friends. Paige is so sweet and the girls play so great together. The girls trying out the "Big Girl" bed at Pottery Barn Kids.

Sophie and Paige looking through their Easter bags at the Manhattan Beach mall Easter egg hunt.
Playing dress up at Paige's house (my camera sort of bit the dust and most of the pictures from this night didn't come out, bummer!)
The girls looked HILARIOUS in their dress up clothes.
Easter Egg hunting in Redondo Beach. The 15 egg per child limit did not deter these girls from trying to fill up their baskets.
Decorating Easter eggs at Paige's house. A relatively calm and uneventful event. (ok so maybe their were 4 adults presents)

Easter Egg Decorating

Ed teaching Sophie had to dip the eggs.
Sophie's special "S" egg.

The finished product! Ed drew Elmo on the green egg, which turned out to look more like Oscar then Elmo.

We introduced Sophie to the tradition of decorating hard boiled eggs at Easter time. She thought it was so much fun! I think her favorite part was taking the egg and dropping it into the dye (probable not my favorite part). She thought the eggs were so "pitty" (pretty).

I love trying out new and old traditions with Sophie. It's so fun to see her get excited about trying something new. Her excitement and laughter is contagious.

A Change of Scenery

Sophie has had a fever most of the week, which means we have been homebound! So, for a change of scenery we headed to Hermosa Beach to chase doggies and swing on the swings. We are so blessed to live so close to the beach!

Sad to See You go

Sophie B., Paige and Sophie O. playing with Ed on the couch.
Sophie and Sophie.
Sophie playing with Jake. Sophie LOVES baby Jakie!
These girls! Clearly Barney is the only way we were able to get a photo of the three of them sitting still together.

It is with laughter(from the three crazy girls playing with each other )and sadness that I wrote this post. Our friends Josh and Sarah and their little ones Sophie and Jake are moving in a few weeks back to the Seattle area. We are so sad to see them go. I feel like we have just started to get to know them but love them all already. You will be missed!

Snuggling with Daddy

Ed woke up Sunday morning not feeling very well. Sophie was sweet enough to help her daddy feel better by snuggling on the couch with him.

5:00 A.M.

What else would the entire family need at 5:00am....coffee of course, or "Kah-kee" as Sophie calls it.

Don't they know it's 5am????? Why are they smiling???

5am this morning I hear Ed go downstairs and he doesn't return. When I head down there I hear him and Sophie talking about red. Sophie had apparently woken up, very wet. When Ed changed her, she insisted on wearing her RED pj's.

I guess we are up for the day. Time to start the caffeine IV.
(Paige, don't worry, we were up early enough to TiVo Barney. You and Sophie will be all set for your playdate this morning. Hilary, maybe make that a double tall nonfat vanilla latte.)

Teaching Sophie the basics

Today I taught Sophie the basics of making chocolate chip cookies, my favorite dessert of all time! I think the mixer was her favorite part. I know she was just itching to put her little fingers in the bowl.

Sophie's Valentine's Day Recap

Valentine's morning: Opening her Valentine card from dad. Ed drew an Elmo on the front of the card, it was a HUGE hit!
Loving the "boons" that Ed gave Sophie and I.
This was Sophie a few days before Valentine's Day making her dad a card...I know, precious =)
Helping mom decorate cupcakes for music class. At some the point the lid on the sprinkles was closed, so when I gave it to Sophie to shake I thought for sure it was a guaranteed mess free time....boy was I wrong! I turn my head for 2 seconds and our counters and floors are covered with pink sprinkles! At least she had fun......
