Photography 101

I started a photography class last week so I could finally learn how to use my "fancy" digital camera. And if I thought I didn't know how to operate my camera prior to the first class, I've learned that there is so much more to learn about my camera than I imagined.... its a good thing this is a 10 week beginners class!

For my first assignment I was told to bring in two of my best photos that I took last week. Below are my two submissions, my subjects being of course my two babies!The instructor looked at this photo and told me he couldn't decide if this was a really great photo or a really bad photo. Real helpful, right? I've decided to go with the "really great photo" judgment.
This photo was deemed a gorgeous photo!

So now onto next week where the assignment is a bit more detailed then "bringing in two of my best photos".

She's cute, she's sweet, completely loveable....and she's 1!

Where did the last 12 months go?? It seemed like it was just yesterday that we put our little Aubrey in her car seat and brought her home from the hosptial. Now she's in a big girl car seat and about to walk!

Aubrey really is such a sweet little girl who brings us so much joy every day. Sophie LOVES Aubrey and Aubrey can't get enough of Sophie....follows her all over the house!

A few of Aub's stats:

Loves animals and starts flapping her arms and making all sorts of noises when she sees them.

-Aubrey has 8 teeth!

-Pulling herself up and standing on her own. Not walking yet, but soon!

Stats:
20.2 lbs, 29 inches long. and is in the 50% for both.

And............We have a Pre-Schooler!

Sophie was SO excited to go to pre-school. The first thing she told her teacher was, "I brought my backpack and my lunchbox."

I can't believe she is old enough to go to pre-school.......where has the time gone????

Hide and Seek

She's 3!

I can hardly believe Sophie is 3! Where has the time gone? Sophie wanted a princess birthday party....so princesses we had! All her little friends showed up in full princess attire for a morning of princess fun.

Best Friends

Sophie and Aubrey love to play with each other. I love to watch them play...many smiles and many giggles can be seen and heard when they are together...absolutely precious!

A look back at June

It's been MONTHS since I last blogged...where has the time gone? These girls keep us so busy!!! Here are some photos from June.

Sweethearts

Sophie is hugging her sweet friend Ryan. These two are so cute together. Ryan is moving in a few weeks and we are so sad to see him and his family go.

Classic boy/girl. Soph is sitting on the Princess side of the bookshelf reading Princess books while Ryan is sitting on the Cars side reading books about Cars.

Weekend Fun

A few weeks ago we headed up to the LA Zoo to see the animals and meet Bert, Ernie and Grover who were visiting the zoo! Sophie was so excited to meet them. We stopped at my sisters house afterwards for some cousin playtime.
